Coastal Cleanup Crew

Our Mission: Encourage cleanups year-round by individuals and groups all around the Oyster Bay / Cold Spring Harbor watershed, not just on the beach.

Clean up some trash, earn community service hours, and have the chance to win prizes while doing it!

How YOU can participate:

Step 1: Register as an individual or team with FOB's volunteer coordinator, Amanda Hornung
Your team can be as big as 4 people, or as small as just you. Have more than 4 people who want to participate? Create multiple teams!
Email Amanda at [email protected]
Step 2: Go out wherever and whenever you wish to collect trash around the area and fill out a collection sheet obtained from Amanda
This can include places like the beach, parks, sidewalks, storm drains, culverts, wetlands, etc. Let the trash guide you.

Step 3: Contact Amanda with the following information to be considered for prizes:
1. The location where you cleaned
2. The duration of the cleanup
3. A photo of the individual or group with the trash collected

4. A photo of the trash data collection sheet
Community service certificates can also be requested
Prizes will be given to the individual or group who has spent the most time cleaning up our town. The grand prize is a ride for up to four people on the Friends of the Bay boat.
