Betsy Lawrence

Betsy Lawrence is the founder and president of the New York School of the Arts and THE HUB at the New York School of the Arts, a not-for-profit art school and cultural center. She is also a psychologist and psychoanalyst, practicing in New York City.

Betsy and her husband Hunt received the Nathanael G. Herreshoff Trophy for their outstanding contributions to the sport of sailing.

They were instrumental in their support for the fleet of boats that were used at the Olympic venue in Rio de Janeiro for more than two years to assist in training American athletes. She and Hunt also founded Oakcliff Sailing, a high-performance training center in Oyster Bay.

Betsy splits her time between Centre Island and New York City.
