Eric Swenson
Secretary
Eric Swenson has been executive director of the Hempstead Harbor Protection Committee since 2003. He is the former chair and current Village of Mill Neck representative on the Oyster Bay / Cold Spring Harbor Protection Committee. Swenson was superintendent of environmental control for the Town of Oyster Bay from 1988 to 2012. He is past president and treasurer of the New York State Association for Solid Waste Management and was the founding director and secretary of the Federation of New York Solid Waste Associations.
He is a board member of the New York Product Stewardship Council, the treasurer of the Nassau County Soil and Water Conservation District, and a member of the Long Island Sound Study Citizens Advisory Committee. He is the past coordinator of the Town of Oyster Bay Green Energy Task Force and secretary of the Evan R. Liblit Memorial Scholarship Committee at Stony Brook University. Swenson is the vice president of the Friends of Cedarmere, Inc., a past member of the Village of Sea Cliff Recycling Task Force, and a past founding member of the board of Support for People with Oral, Head and Neck Cancer.
